This isn't some cheezy application built using antiquated technologies from a decade ago. We built this using the latest Microsoft .NET technologies so that it is a robust application that will work on virtually any Windows based operating system including Vista. We've run it ourselves on Windows XP, Vista, 2003 Server and 2008 Server and it works perfectly with ever so smooth scrolling.

Save and Open RTF documents. Practically every word processor including MS Word, WordPerfect, MS Works, WordPad, Mac Pages, etc. allow the creation, exporting and editing of RTF documents. Change the font size and color globally from scroll mode or change individual words and sentences within edit mode. Change the background color and even invert the color. Most people will edit it in white and invert it to black for use with a teleprompting mirror. Keyboard commands for scrolling up (up arrow) and down (down arrow) as well as increasing (+) and decreasing (-) the speed of scroll. The toolbar can be hidden by clicking the little up arrow tab in the upper left corner. There is also an auto hide button on the toolbar that allows the toolbar to disappear out of sight when the cursor is not in the area of the toolbar. Use images in your scripts by copying and pasting an image or by creating your document with images in your favorite word processor, then saving your document as an RTF file and loading it in eTeleprompt. Expand your line spacing from 1 to 1.5 or 2 lines with the click of a button. Create your scripts directly in eTeleprompt with a full featured built in editor. eTeleprompt was created to be heavy on the features, but light on the file size so it could be used on an older computer with very little memory and drive space to create a very efficient and low cost teleprompter. At well under 300kb, we think we have achieved that. Probably the best feature of all is the fact that eTeleprompt is 100% free. eTeleprompt has the features of software based teleprompters costing hundreds of dollars. We needed a teleprompter for the videos that we do and we began scouring the Internet looking for one. We found an inexpensive one, but it was too basic. We found a web based one, but what happens when you don't have Internet access? The nicer ones were too pricey. That's when we made a call to our parent company, Merlix. You see, they're a software company and we gave them a challenge, to make us a full featured teleprompter that could work from a laptop or desktop computer in either normal mode or be able to invert the text for a teleprompter mirror.
